Fleetwood, Pennsylvania was founded in 1873. Over the years, many organizations and individuals contributed to make the town the special place it is. As we begin our 151st year, we’re saluting and celebrating these special people with the creation of THE FLEETWOOD CADILLAC AWARD for extraordinary community service and THE FLEETWOOD HOMETOWN HERO AWARD to an individual or individuals who made a difference. Join us for the celebration in saluting Fleetwood’s Finest on March 8, 2025 at the Fleetwood Fire Co. Social Quarters Banquet Hall .

The Fleetwood Fire Company
The fire company proudly protects over 4,000 residents in Fleetwood Borough and assist departments in our mutual aid response area. The company operates out of one station that provides fire, rescue, and QRS services to over 1,300 homes, three schools, five churches and an industrial area. The company is a public department whose members are volunteer. The fire department also has in place a junior FF program which starts at the age of 14. John Manmiller currently serves as the Fire Chief of this all-volunteer organization. “We’re thrilled to be receiving this inaugural FLEETWOOD CADILLAC AWARD for extraordinary community service. All our members are volunteers who give and support this special place,” stated Manmiller. “It’s an honor to be recognized by our community that we serve and we’re all proud to call Fleetwood our home.”
R. Joel Schaeffer, Ernie Fink & Barney Dietrich
Since 1965, Smith Field has been home to Little League in Fleetwood with thousands of young people taking advantage of playing baseball over the years. And even today, it still is bringing joy to Fleetwood kids who play baseball. These men made a huge contribution to Fleetwood through their volunteerism with the Jaycees as well as Fleetwood Borough Council, FCCO and Breakfast Brothers among other community organizations. “It’s all a little overwhelming. We just wanted to build something special for the kids in our town and it’s wonderful that after almost 60 years, it is still going strong. My great grandson now plays on the field every summer,” said R. Joel Schaeffer. The baseballs will be flying on March 8th as we pay tribute to these three special men.
Barney Dietrich, Ernie Fink and R. Joel Schaeffer will receive the FLEETWOOD HOMETOWN HERO AWARD for building Fleetwood’s Little League Field with the Fleetwood Jaycee’s in 1965.

The Tiger Nation committee is inviting the borough, businesses, groups, and individuals to celebrate through the arts. Our goal is to beautify our community with artistically created life-size sculptures of the school district’s tiger mascot and to allow members of the business community, the school district, and the citizenry to learn more about one another in appreciation of the any skills, abilities and creative gifts available and the support provided within the community. Working together and having fun, establishing friendship bonds among the many groups within the community, is an important part of our mission.
To Sponsor a Tiger:
For any individual, business or organization to sponsor one of the tigers will cost between $3,100.00 and $3,500.00, depending on which model is selected. The price covers expenses: fabrication of the tiger, shipping and handling, stipend to the artist, clear coating, promotional and sponsorship expenses incurred by the Friends of Fleetwood Park through the Tiger Nation Initiative. All checks are made payable to: Friends of Fleetwood Park. NOTE: Installation of the tiger at a designated location is not available through Tiger Nation project; materials for installation and arrangements must be made by the sponsor. Tiger Nation can recommend details and individuals to facilitate installation. Sponsors assume responsibility for the care and upkeep of finished tiger sculptures.
For questions, and to place an order for a tiger, please contact Caren at tigernationart@gmail.com
